CTV is poised to launch a new web-based digital audio channel featuring an interesting mix of programming currently underrepresented on television or radio. Preference will be given to original content produced by residents in East Tennessee including – neighborhood biographies, storytelling, multicultural vibes, panel discussions, community events, local sports, news reports, public service profiles, skills training, educational courses, citizen editorials, and the local music scene. Program formats will include pre-recorded single and multi-episode programs and some live interactive programs. The program schedule for each day will have some consistent elements, but no two consecutive days will be exactly alike. All of the programs will be archived at the site – available to listeners “on demand” whenever it is most convenient for them. Neighborhood Biographies will shed light on the unique history, characteristics and issues of our Knoxville & Knox County neighborhoods. They will include recordings by current and former residents describing how their neighborhoods “used to be”. They will also include recordings of discussions submitted by residents and neighborhood groups pertaining to important issues of the day and other special neighborhood events.
